Shots Fired: One Man Hospitalized, Three Houses Struck In Suffolk County

Gunshots rang out on a Long Island street during an altercation, with bullets striking one man and multiple houses, police said.

Suffolk County Police Seventh Squad detectives are investigating a shooting that happened shortly after 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 2 on Floyd Road North near Hampton Avenue in Shirley.

According to investigators, two men were involved in a verbal altercation when one of them shot the other at 6:08 p.m. on Wednesday, with bullets striking three other houses.

Police said that the victim was able to self-transport himself to an area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. No other injuries were reported.
